Special Events
Throughout the year Myrddin has several special events:

In the summer we host a short course competition. This is a competition which combines a dressage test with a jumping test, that includes both stadium and XC fences; the winner is the person with the best combined score. Many volunteers are needed to ensure this runs smoothly, and students are encouraged to participate.
This competition includes a BBQ lunch, and all proceeds go to the Canadian War Amps CHAMP program. |

At Christmas time we have a gymkhana and pot-luck lunch. A gymkhana is games on horseback and all students, regardless of riding level, are welcome to participate. This is a highly entertaining day and everybody has a good time. After the games are done and the horses taken care of, we have a pot-luck lunch where mountains of really good food are consumed. |

A few times each year Myrddin has work parties. When everybody comes to help out, we're able to keep the facility in excellent condition for everybody to use.
Through the winter Myrddin runs a horsemanship lecture series to help riders prepare for the EC Rider Level exams or just to brush up on their general horse knowledge. These are generally very well attended and students find they take lots away from them. |
